Privacy Policy.

1 · What we collect

• Account data — name and email via our sign-in provider (Clerk) when you create an account.
• Conversation data — your chat with Watchy, including details you share about your watch, and any photos you upload.
• Transaction data — when you accept an offer: contact details, shipping address, and payment routing information needed to pay you.
• Technical data — IP address and basic request metadata, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

2 · How we use it

To identify your watch, generate and honour quotes, arrange insured shipping, perform inspection, pay you, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations that apply to purchasers of second-hand goods. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

3 · AI processing

Quote conversations are processed by a large language model (Anthropic’s Claude) under our API agreement. Conversation content is used to operate the service — identifying your watch and producing your quote — not to train third-party models.

4 · Service providers

We share data with the providers required to run the service: authentication (Clerk), database hosting (Neon), file storage (Vercel), email delivery (Resend), AI processing (Anthropic), market data retrieval, and — once you accept an offer — FedEx for shipping. Each receives only what its function requires.

5 · Retention

Transaction records are retained as required for tax, audit, and second-hand-dealer compliance. Chat sessions that never become transactions are retained to operate and improve the service; you may request their deletion at any time.

6 · Your choices

You can request a copy or deletion of your personal data by emailing ai@newportwjl.com from your account address. Deletion requests are honoured except where retention is legally required.

7 · Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to operators who need it, and payment routing details are used solely to send your payout.

8 · Changes

Material changes to this policy will be posted on this page.
