History
The Santos de Cartier traces its lineage to the early twentieth century, when Louis Cartier designed a wristwatch for the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont — widely regarded as one of the first purpose-built wristwatches for a man. The 2018 relaunch, of which the WSSA0009 is a first-series expression, modernised the Santos with refined proportions, an updated bracelet system, and a new family of in-house movements.
