Overview
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic Medium Duetto (ref. Q2588422) is a two-faced dress watch built around the Reverso's signature swivelling case, here measuring 40.1 × 24.4 mm in stainless steel. One side presents a silvered guilloché dial, while the other reveals a diamond-set face, offering two distinct expressions within a single timepiece. Calibre 854A/2 powers both displays from within the reversible carrure.
History
The Reverso was born in 1931 as a polo player's watch with a protective swivelling case, and over the following decades it evolved into one of the most architecturally distinctive dress-watch lines in Swiss horology. The Duetto concept extended that heritage by dedicating the reverse side to a fully finished second dial rather than leaving it as a plain caseback. The Classic Medium Duetto in its current stainless-steel, diamond-set form has been offered since 2016, continuing Jaeger-LeCoultre's tradition of pairing Art Deco geometry with fine gem-setting.
Notable points
- Reversible 40.1 × 24.4 mm stainless-steel case pivots on its trunnions to reveal two entirely different dials.
- Primary dial features a silvered guilloché surface, a hallmark of traditional dress-watch finishing.
- Second face is set with diamonds, transforming the reverse side into a jewellery-grade display.
- Calibre 854A/2 is a manufacture movement developed specifically for the Reverso's slim, rectangular architecture.
- The Duetto name signals a watch conceived from the outset as a dual-dial piece, not a simple decorated caseback.
