The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 in stainless steel revives the storied calibre 321, the column-wheel chronograph movement that powered the Speedmaster through the Apollo era. Housed in a 39.7 mm steel case with a black dial, it faithfully echoes the proportions and spirit of the early Speedmaster references. Introduced in 2020, it stands as one of the most historically significant modern Speedmaster releases.

The calibre 321 was the original movement inside the Speedmaster from its earliest years, later replaced by the calibre 861 in the late 1960s. Omega undertook an extensive effort to reconstruct the movement, drawing on historical examples and archival documentation to bring the 321 back into production for the first time in decades. The 311.30.40.30.01.001 reference, launched in 2020, marked the return of the 321 in a stainless steel case at the classic 39.7 mm diameter — the same dimension associated with the watches worn during the Apollo missions. Among collectors, the reference is regarded as a landmark reissue that prioritises horological authenticity over mere aesthetic nostalgia.
