The 116610LV was introduced at Baselworld 2010, succeeding the earlier green-bezel, black-dial reference 16610LV and marking the first time Rolex paired a green dial with a green bezel on a production Submariner. The green Cerachrom ceramic bezel insert — scratch-resistant and UV-stable — was a significant material upgrade over the aluminium inserts used on prior generations. The reference remained in continuous production for approximately a decade before being retired when Rolex unveiled the redesigned 41 mm Submariner family in 2020.
