Released in 2017 to mark the model's significance within the Prospex lineage, the SLA017 reproduces the restrained, tool-watch aesthetic of its ancestor in a 39.9 mm stainless steel case. The original 62MAS — the designation reflecting its movement family and diver specification — established Seiko's credentials in professional dive-watch design during the mid-1960s, a period of intense international competition in the category.
