The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding 39 (ref. 15300ST) occupies a precise moment in the Royal Oak's long history, offering the Gerald Genta-designed octagonal bezel and integrated bracelet in a 39 mm stainless steel case. Powered by the in-house Calibre 3120, it was available across several dial variants — blue, black, silver, and white — each dressed in the model's signature Grande Tapisserie pattern. Positioned squarely within the sport-luxury segment, the reference carried forward the aesthetic language established by the original 1972 Royal Oak while meeting the expectations of early 2000s collectors.

Reference 15300ST entered production in 2005, succeeding the long-running 14790ST and continuing the Royal Oak's tradition of incremental, carefully considered evolution. The adoption of Calibre 3120 — an entirely in-house automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve — marked a meaningful technical step forward for the line. The reference remained in production until approximately 2012, when it was succeeded by the 15400ST, which introduced a slightly larger 41 mm case.
