Overview
The Omega Constellation Globemaster Co-Axial Master Chronometer (ref. 130.30.39.21.03.001) revives the iconic pie-pan dial architecture of the original 1952 Constellation in a thoroughly modern 39 mm stainless steel case. Powered by Calibre 8900, it carries the distinction of being among the first watches to achieve METAS Master Chronometer certification, holding antimagnetic resistance to 15,000 gauss. The blue sunburst pie-pan dial gives the piece an unmistakable dress-watch character rooted in mid-century Omega heritage.
History
The Globemaster name was reintroduced in 2015 to mark the Constellation line's return to its founding aesthetic — the stepped, sector-divided dial that defined the original Constellation of the early 1950s. At launch, the Globemaster became one of the inaugural references to pass the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) Master Chronometer protocol, a standard more stringent than COSC chronometer certification. The reference has remained in continuous production, cementing its role as the flagship expression of the modern Constellation collection.
Notable points
- 39 mm stainless steel case with the characteristic Globemaster fluted bezel, a nod to the original Constellation crown motif.
- Calibre 8900 is a Co-Axial escapement movement certified to the METAS Master Chronometer standard, guaranteeing accuracy of 0/+5 seconds per day.
- Antimagnetic resistance rated to 15,000 gauss, far exceeding the 1,000-gauss threshold of traditional antimagnetic watches.
- The blue pie-pan dial features a raised, stepped chapter ring and sector finishing — a faithful revival of the 1952 Constellation's defining design element.
- Master Chronometer certification requires passing eight tests conducted by METAS, covering precision, magnetic resistance, and water resistance.
