Black Bay Burgundy

The Tudor Black Bay Burgundy, reference 79230R, is a 41 mm stainless steel diver distinguished by its deep burgundy aluminium bezel insert — a colour drawn directly from Tudor's vintage diving heritage. Powered by the in-house calibre MT5602, it sits at the heart of the modern Black Bay family as one of its most visually distinctive variants. The black dial and snowflake hands complete a composition that balances period-correct aesthetics with contemporary manufacture-level engineering.

The Black Bay line was revived in the early 2010s as Tudor's reinterpretation of its own mid-century diving watches, and the Burgundy variant arrived in 2016 as a direct nod to the red-bezel references that had appeared in the original Tudor diving catalogue decades earlier. Reference 79230R remained in production until 2023, giving it a substantial run that allowed it to become a defining expression of the Black Bay identity. The introduction of the MT5602 — a manufacture movement developed with Breguet overcoil and a 70-hour power reserve — marked a significant step in Tudor's push toward in-house calibre independence during this period.
